SSBob Makes it 3 in a Row

Blazing fast speeds and no cautions characterized the truck race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, as SSBob claimed his third victory in a row.

Bob started from second on the grid and dominated most of the race through a couple of cycles of green flag pit stops. On the final green flag stop, however, both J Rowell and Beness made great time and were able to overtake Bob in the front of the field.

J Rowell looked to be in the position to win until three laps to go when Beness looked inside him entering turn 3 and the two drivers made contact. Both trucks slowed and slid up the track allowing SSBob to cruise by and win his third race of the year. SSBob led 78 of the 107 laps on the night. J Rowell led 21 and Beness led 6.

MiZer finished fourth after a pitting miscue put him behind the leaders and HaleYa finished fifth by virtue of starting the race and retiring. His start and park earned him a top five finish but no winnings.

SSBob Wins Fontana Trucks

SSBob made a pass on the last restart with seven laps to go and held off a charging MiZer to win the truck series race at California Sunday night. Bob led only led 8 of the 100 laps, but was in the lead when it counted. MiZer, Beness, Buddy S, and P Thomas rounded out second through fifth place.

The trucks battled a lack of grip in the high groove all night long. That lack of grip combined with aggressive driving led to a whopping 9 cautions for 25 laps. The racing was good at times though, and as seven of the eight drivers took turns swapping the lead. There were 23 lead changes on the night, with P Thomas leading the most laps at 33.

Both DanninTo and J Rowell continued their terrible luck at the beginning to the season. One of DanninTo's spins led to retirement and J Rowell's engine let go after just 66 laps. They are both hoping for their luck to turn around next week at Las Vegas.
